The Visual Arts

The visual arts opportunities at the Center include exhibits, classes, and demonstrations. Topics for classes include drawing painting, printmaking, pottery, glass fusing, and others. These events typically take place in the historic classroom building where needed equipment stays available year-round. An off-site exhibit, Art on the Walls at the Clark Fork Valley Hospital, offers a glimpse of the talents of local artists.

In this series of six  introductory classes, Ellen Childress will teach you about “thrown pottery” on a potters wheel, and Karen Thorson will teach you techniques for hand built pottery.  You will create some finished pieces and be prepared to work on your own.

This introductory class, taught by Karen Thorson, will teach you about various techniques and strategies to draw effectively for a range of subjects, from everyday objects to a variety of landscapes.

Drawing w/ Pen & Ink

 

2 Part Series
Saturdays, October 19 & 26
10 AM-Noon

 

Take your drawing to a new level by incorporating pen and ink!  Make it permanent!  Mac Hall with teach you how  to use ink washes for shading.  Experiment with pen “cross hatching” to give form to objects.
